Privacy Policy
Last updated: 23 August 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how FreeMetrics Ltd ("FreeMetrics", "we", "us") collects, uses and protects information when you use our website (freemetrics.io) and our applications for Jira Cloud (the "Service").
Who we are
FreeMetrics Ltd is a company registered in England & Wales (company number 17364626) with its registered office at 71–75 Shelton Street, Covent Garden, London, WC2H 9JQ, United Kingdom. For any privacy question or request, contact [email protected].
Information we collect
- Website. Our website does not require an account and does not use marketing trackers. Standard technical logs (IP address, browser type, pages visited) may be processed by our hosting provider for security and operations.
- Contact. If you email us, we receive your email address and the contents of your message, and use them only to respond.
- App data. When our Jira Cloud app is installed, it processes Jira data (such as projects, issues, sprints and worklogs) solely to deliver the sync functionality configured by your administrator — transferring that data to the Google BigQuery destination that you own and control. We do not sell Jira data, use it for advertising, or use it for any purpose other than providing the Service.
Where app data lives
Our Jira Cloud app runs entirely on Atlassian Forge. It stores only its own configuration, sync watermarks, run logs and the Google service-account key you provide (kept in Atlassian's encrypted secret storage, never shown again in the UI). The only external services the app communicates with are bigquery.googleapis.com and oauth2.googleapis.com — endpoints of your own Google Cloud project, declared in the app manifest and reviewed by Atlassian. FreeMetrics operates no servers that receive, store or can access your Jira data. Uninstalling the app deletes all app storage; data already written to your BigQuery dataset belongs to you and is not touched.
Data residency
Jira data synced by the app is written to the BigQuery location you choose. The app keeps no end-user data outside Atlassian's storage for your installation.
Data processing agreement
If your organisation requires a DPA, contact [email protected] and we will provide one for signature.
Legal bases
We process personal data to perform our contract with you (providing the Service), to comply with legal obligations, and for our legitimate interests in operating and securing the Service.
Data sharing
We do not sell personal data. We share data only with service providers necessary to operate the Service (such as cloud hosting), under appropriate data-processing terms, or where required by law.
Data retention
Contact correspondence is kept only as long as needed to handle your request. App configuration data is retained while your installation is active and deleted after uninstallation in accordance with Atlassian Marketplace requirements.
International transfers
Where data is transferred outside the UK/EEA, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as adequacy decisions or standard contractual clauses.
Your rights
Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict or object to the processing of your personal data, and to data portability. To exercise any right, contact [email protected]. You also have the right to complain to a supervisory authority, including the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ICO).
Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. The latest version will always be available at this page, with the date above updated accordingly.
